Everyone knows Alexz Johnson as complete cutie Jude Harrison, the sixteen-year-old singer-songwriter, reality-contest champ suddenly thrust into the spotlight and the discord-filled world of pop music from CTVs Instant Star. This Gemini Award-winning series has become a huge hit and so have its stars.

Judes back this summer with a new look, a new attitude and a whole new set of problems. After a jam-packed North American tour, the tenacious redhead-turned-blonde faces new challenges in the second season of Instant Star. Desperate to find her own voice and prove to the record company, her manager, her friends and even herself that she still belongs on the top, this teenaged music star has to adjust to life after instant stardom. Whether its money, love or just life itself, the singer/songwriter finds herself in some hot water with her label, her boyfriend and even the law. 

Curious about Alexz Johnson? Look no further! ME is the place to learn it all! A long-time performer, Alexz made her debut at the age of 11, competing in talent contests and festivals. Her big break as an actor came when she landed the lead role of Annie on the Disney series, So Weird. This was followed by many film and television appearances, including guest-starring roles on The Collector and Cold Squad. In addition to Instant Star, Alexz recently singed an international recording contract with Capital Records and is working hard at her debut album, which is set for a 2007 release.

The Wire: Episode 39: Soft Eyes  

No other show packs as much information into one hour as The Wire. Each episode follows several characters, several storylines and is so crammed with nuance and small strands of information you sometimes feel like youre lost in a Russian novel.

Standouts from Sunday night include: Herc walking in on the mayor who just happens to be getting serviced (and not by his wife). Herc thinks hes finished until he has a chat with sly, old Major Valchek who tells him that careers have been launched on a helluva lot less and to just shut up and play dumb.

Cutty has all the hot moms in the hood showing up at the gym with home cooking cause they just appreciate what hes doing for those kids! Spiders mom tells Cutty she throws down good in the kitchen and elsewhere.

And finally, the cops have a grim laugh over a mans dying words: You ask who shot him? Sure he said a guy with a gun.
